MJLEC Writing Rules 2021

This booklet provides guidance about conventions of the text types that students may be expected to produce in the external examination and for the school-assessed coursework (SAC).

These text types are indicated on page 13 of the Japanese Second Language: Victorian Certificate of Education Study Design (VCE Japanese Second Language

Units 1 and 2: 2019–2024;

Units 3 and 4: 2020–2024).

Section one presents identifiable conventional features of each text type.

Section two introduces basic rules of how to use genkouyoushi.

Section three shows a partial example of each text type written on genkouyoushi using a relevant format.
