Yayoi Kusama’s art has brought so much joy, colour, and inspiration to millions of people around the world. Through her famous polka dots, she turned her personal challenges into powerful art that celebrates love, connection, and endless creativity. Her unique life story shows us the power of resilience and self-expression.
Many teachers reached out to ask for a rerun of the session we presented in 2025 at the NGV & MJLEH Workshop, JLTAV, JLTASA (Immersion Day), and JATNET. In response, we are holding a special online tribute workshop to honour Kusama's life and legacy.
We invite you to join us as we explore creative ways to share her story and artwork with our Japanese language students.

What We Will Cover
This one-hour session offers practical ideas for different year levels:

• Primary (Years 5–6 Focus): Real classroom samples showing how to teach Kusama’s life and artistic journey.
  It is adaptable for older students.
•  Junior Primary: Hands-on activities designed for younger learners.
• Secondary (Junior & Senior): Selected Japanese texts and ideas suitable for older students.

You will leave the session with ready-to-use teaching ideas to bring Kusama's vibrant world into your classroom
