The Monash Medical School Improving Diagnosis Symposium

Monash University is delighted to host a 1 day Symposium on Improving Diagnosis on December 15, 2025 with the theme “The Art and Science of Diagnosis”.

Symposium Convenors; Carmel Crock, Nicola Cunningham, Julia Harrison and Chloe Lacey warmly invite you to attend this inaugural event at our Clayton campus.
Diagnosis is one of the most challenging and complex tasks faced by clinicians, and excellence in the diagnostic process involves both the art and science of medicine.

The seminar will foster lively discussion, with plenaries, workshops and presentations of innovations and research in the field of diagnostic quality and safety. There will be a focus on education and clinical reasoning, the use of AI and practice improvements as well as psychological safety to improve diagnosis. It will be an opportunity for networking with others working in the field and passionate about diagnostic excellence for patients.
