Terms of Use and Sale

The owner and operator of this website is Monash University, and use of this website is subject to the terms and policies below. Please read these conditions carefully before placing an order through this website. By placing an order, you signify your agreement to be bound by these conditions.

Your order is an offer to buy the products in your order. This offer is only accepted after payment is made in full and when we either dispatch the products to you or make the products available for click & collect (see below). In the event we are out of stock or otherwise cannot fulfil your order, we will inform you as soon as practicable, your order will be cancelled and you will not be charged. Both ownership of and risk in all products bought through this website passes to you upon delivery or collection of the products.

Pricing

All prices on this website are shown in Australian Dollars inclusive of GST where applicable, and inclusive of delivery costs unless otherwise stated. Prices are subject to change without notice.

All photographs are for illustrative purposes only. The appearance of the actual goods supplied may vary.

Delivery Information

You can directly contact the product owner for confirmation of shipping or collection. Simply visit the product page you ordered from and click on the "More Information" tab to access their contact details.

Click & Collect

We offer click & collect for a range of products. If you have selected click and collect, the product owner will send you an email when your order is ready for collection.

When collecting your order, please bring:

• the credit card used to make the purchase
• valid photo ID
• your order number/copy of your order.

You cannot nominate someone else to pick up your order.

Click & Collect orders will be held for 30 days from the order date. If your order is not collected within 30 days, your order will be cancelled and we will contact you to arrange a refund (see refunds below).

Delivery

Delivery costs vary by product and are calculated at checkout. If no delivery charge is applied, then shipping is free.

For some products, there may be additional costs for international delivery, which will be indicated on the product page or calculated at checkout.

Please ensure that your delivery address and receiver name are accurate and complete. Monash University is not responsible for any missing orders due to incorrect information provided by you.

Returns and Refunds

Refunds/Exchanges

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

As a consumer, you are entitled to the benefit of statutory consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law in respect of items purchased from Monash University.

‘Major failure’ means products where there is a significant departure between the goods supplied and their description, products which are unsafe, products which are substantially unfit for their purpose, or products which are defective and would not have been acquired by a reasonable consumer aware of the defect.

Returns

To arrange a return, please contact us . All return, refund or exchange requests must include your online tax invoice/receipt and identification as proof of purchase. We are not responsible for non-delivered parcels, so it’s a good idea to use registered post when returning items.

All payments will be refunded using the original payment method. If the original method is not available, we will contact the original purchaser to make alternative arrangements for a refund.

Change of mind

If you have simply changed your mind about a purchase we cannot offer a refund, but you can contact us to find out what alternative option the product owner may offer if:

• you supply us with proof of purchase and valid photo id
• the item is still in its original condition (i.e. the item’s tags and labels are still
attached, the item is in its original packaging (if any), and the item is unworn, unused and as sold)
• the request is received within 14 days of purchase
• the item is not on the special exception list (see below)

Special Exceptions

We do not offer an exchange or credit on the following items unless the item is faulty, the item supplied differs to the one purchased, or in breach of manufacturer's warranties or Australian Consumer Law consumer guarantees:

• CDs, DVDs
• Events, seminars and courses
• Course notes
• Textbooks (please note: Monash University online store is not responsible for the provision or accuracy of booklists.)
• Ebooks, downloadable products, goods that are packaged with a digital product, or an access code
• Software, hardware, and other IT products
• Stationery
• Art materials
• Other items that are marked at a product level as non-refundable

EU Consumer Withdrawal Notice

If you are an EU consumer, EU consumer law generally gives you 14 days to withdraw from an eligible online purchase without giving any reason, unless an exception applies. Please refer to the EU Consumer Withdrawal Notice.

Account

Create an Account

If you don't have a Shop.Monash account, you can easily create one and start shopping online.

If you're a Monash student or staff member, simply log in with your Monash SSO to create an account.

With a Shop.Monash account, you can receive updates about special offers and new products, track your orders, save items for later purchase, manage your delivery addresses, and view your order history. We use your information to enhance your experience with Shop.Monash, and you can withdraw your consent at any time.

Alternatively, you can shop on Shop.Monash as a guest without creating an account.

Account Data

We are committed to protecting your personal information and ensuring it is handled in a secure and responsible manner, in accordance with applicable data protection laws and best practice standards. You can read more about Data Protection and Privacy at Monash

You have the right to request access to the personal data associated with your account at any time. Upon receipt of a valid request, we will process it within two (2) working days. Once processed, a copy of the information held on your Shop.Monash account will be provided to you via your registered primary email address.

Delete Account

You may request the deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time.

Upon receiving your request, we will take reasonable steps to securely erase your data within two (2) working days, unless retention is required to meet legal or regulatory obligations. Once the process is complete, you will receive confirmation that your account and data have been deleted.

We accept card payments, Google Pay and AliPay.

Privacy information

Monash University is committed to managing any personal information you provide to us in the course of using this website in accordance with all applicable Australian

privacy laws, and to keeping that personal information safe. Please refer to the Monash University Privacy Collection Statement found at http://www.privacy.monash.edu.au/ (or, if you are a student of Monash, please refer to the Student Privacy Collection Statement found on the same webpage).

No customer credit card details are stored on Monash University servers from information gathered from this site.

Monash University shall not be taken to waive its rights under these Terms on the basis that it chooses not enforce them in relations to any particular breach, and will still be entitled to exercise its rights and remedies in any other situation where a user breaches these Terms.

These Terms of Use and Sale are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Victoria, Australia and by using this website you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Victoria, Australia in relation to any dispute relating to this website or goods purchased through this website.
