This course is designed to enhance understanding and application of effective collaboration and communication strategies within the contemporary business environment. It provides practical insights and actionable strategies for optimising collaborative processes and communication channels, covering best practices such as clear communication, goal alignment, defined roles, effective use of collaboration tools, and the cultivation of a positive team culture. 

Throughout this course you will be encouraged to develop a growth mindset and adapt to technological changes, fostering a culture of continual improvement and adaptability. You will also explore the importance of open and honest communication, positive language, and adapting to diverse audiences for effective collaboration. 

By the end of the course, you will be able to identify key elements of effective teamwork and collaboration, undertake a self-assessment of their collaboration skills, develop a personalised development plan, and obtain a greater understanding of how teamwork and collaboration can drive business transformation and innovation.

Structure:

This course comprises of 5 modules of learning, followed by the completion of a 5 week goal and Final Assessment to qualify for your micro-credential. Please see below a module-by-module breakdown of what you will learn in this course.

Module 1: Introduction to Teamwork and Collaboration: Evolution of Teams in the Modern World, What does it take to be Part of a Team, Exploring the Benefits of Effective Collaboration, Identifying Common Challenges and Key Teamwork Theories.

Module 2: Building High Performing Teams: Personal Strengths and Weaknesses, SMART Goal Framework, Creating a Positive Team Culture, Benefits of Diverse Teams, Team Goals and Objectives, Effective Conflict Resolution and Understanding Synergy.

Module 3: Communication Strategies for Effective Collaboration: Verbal and Non-Verbal Communication, Active and Empathetic Listening and Implementing Feedback Loops.

Module 4: Embracing Diversity for Enhanced Team Dynamics: Diversity of Thought and Perspective, Deep Understanding for Stronger Team Relationships and Personal Learning Plan Development.

Module 5: Leading and Sustaining Collaborative Teams: Leadership Styles and their Impact on Teamwork, Empowering Team Members and Understanding Motivation.

Assessments:

  1. Formative Assessments throughout the course, functioning as knowledge checks.
  2. Summative Assessment at the end of course.
