ATS3544 - Practical archaeology in the field

Knowing how to excavate archaeological sites and how to work with Indigenous communities are fundamental skills needed to be a practicing archaeologist working in Australia within the field of Indigenous archaeology. This unit (ATS3544) provides the only opportunity that Monash undergraduates have to gain such experience. Undertaking this unit gives Monash archaeology students an employment edge. The excavations undertaken are always part of an existing research project by the unit coordinator (alternating between Profs Ian McNiven and Bruno David).

This payment is for the accommodation costs of the field trip and limit to the 10 applicants who have applied and been accepted to the field trip.
