Personal Accountability (includes Commitment & Taking Personal Responsibility)

About the course:

Taking Personal Accountability is becoming one of the most critical skills needed today to help us all better navigate our rapidly changing world, working within and leading teams, through increasing uncertainty, while continually focussing on the ability to perform at a high level. When we are surrounded by uncertainty and we don’t know what we don’t know, you need to be able to trust that each person will do their part, otherwise the system breaks down. Individuals that practise Personal Accountability are more likely to succeed and achieve their personal and career goals.  When you are personally accountable, others will not only feel more confident about you and what you can deliver, they will trust the outcomes you deliver. This course will provide you with a toolkit to further build your personal accountability. 

Structure:

This course comprises of 5 modules of learning, followed by the completion of a 5-unit goal and Final Assessment to qualify for your micro-credential. Please see below a unit-by-unit breakdown of what you will learn in this course. 

Unit 1: Context and Introduction to Personal Accountability, Accountability at work and the Components of Accountability. 

Unit 2: The Importance of Accountability in todays' world of work, Accountability and change, Ethics and Accountability. 

Unit 3: Drivers of Accountability in the workplace. 

Unit 4: Tools and Techniques to develop your personal accountability in the workplace. 

Unit 5: You will revisit key signposts in the course and bring to life some of the activities you have been participating in over the past 4 units. A final assessment will be held in this unit which will support you towards gaining the Personal Accountability micro-credential.

Assessments:

1. Formative Assessments throughout the course, functioning as knowledge checks.
2. Summative Assessment at the end of course.

Learning outcomes:

This course will provide you with a toolkit to further build your personal accountability which can be applied in the workplace and personal life. The objective for this course is to build the ability in you, the learner to:

1. Comprehend the concept of Personal Accountability.
2. Complete a self-assessment to evaluate your personal accountability and analyse results. 
3. Identify and implement actions that are suitable for you and in your context to improve your personal accountability in your professional life.
4. Construct and submit a professional development plan focused on raising your personal accountability, taking key learnings from the course to build the strategies right for you.
