Introduction to Australian Physiotherapy Practice Workshops - Musculoskeletal
This workshop provides an overview, to common principles and practice in musculoskeletal physiotherapy in Australia, through the use of a variety of teaching and learning activities. Participants will be provided with pre-reading to maximise discussion / practical time on the day. Emphasis during the workshop will be on developing clinical reasoning and practical skills in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The workshop is targeted at candidates who have successfully completed the APC theory exam.
At the completion of the workshop, participants should be able to:
- Discuss modes of service delivery in Australia in relation to musculoskeletal physiotherapy
- List the components of an interview
- Identify the elements of physical assessment
- Identify how to modify assessment relevant to a patients’ presentation.
- Apply clinical reasoning in identification of treatment priorities
- Apply common risk management strategies
- Demonstrate commonly used treatment techniques
Ms.Jodie Dakic completed her physiotherapy qualification with Honours and as Dux in 2002. She initially worked in orthopaedic/sports private practises for 8 years and is qualified in clinical pilates. She worked for the Women's Tennis Association based in London where she spent a 3 year period travelling as a primary health care provider on the International Tennis Circuit. She has continued this role part time over the last 6 years. Jodie joined Monash University in 2010 and is a key member of the musculoskeletal teaching team in the Bachelor of Physiotherapy.

Morning and afternoon tea is provided.
A light lunch will be provided, but if you prefer there are two cafes on campus where you can purchase food.
Note: If you are registering to attend all three workshops you need to register by this link to obtain the reduced price, rather than registering for each workshop separately

We reserve the right to cancel any of the workshops if the minimum number of 10 registrants is not reached. Full refunds will be available to those registered in this instance.
Participants will be entitled to a refund, less a $100 administration fee per workshop, if cancellation is at least 6 weeks before course commencement AND ONLY IF pre-course reading material has NOT been sent to the participant.
Once pre course reading material has been sent to a participant and/or cancellation is less than 6 weeks prior to course commencement participants are not entitled to a refund.
