Introduction to Australian Physiotherapy Practice Workshops - Cardiorespiratory
This workshop provides an overview to common principles and practice in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy in Australia, through the use of a variety of teaching and learning activities including case studies. Participants will be provided with pre-reading to maximise workshop time. The workshop is targeted at clinical skill and clinical development relevant to the Australian Healthcare system. The workshop is targeted at candidates who have successfully completed the APC theory exam.
At the completion of the cardiorespiratory workshop, participants should be able to:
- Discuss modes of cardiorespiratory physiotherapy service delivery within the Australian Healthcare context
- List key components of a cardiorespiratory interview
- Identify the elements of a cardiorespiratory physical examination
- Demonstrate modification of assessment relevant to patient pathology
- Apply clinical reasoning in identification of patient problems and treatment priorities
- Demonstrate commonly used treatment techniques
- Apply risk minimisation strategies
- Identify key issues related to goal setting and discharge planning in the acute cardiorespiratory patient within the Australian Healthcare context
Dr Christian Osadnik BPhysio (Hons), PhD. Christian is a Senior Lecturer physiotherapist in the Department of Physiotherapy at Monash University with over 20 years of clinical, teaching and research experience in the field of cardiorespiratory physiotherapy. He is an experienced APC clinical examiner and facilitator of the Monash University APP workshops.

We reserve the right to cancel any of the workshops if the minimum number of 10 registrants is not reached. Full refunds will be available to those registered in this instance.
Cancellation requests submitted up to 2 weeks prior to the workshop date will be entitled to a full refund, less 10% for administration fees.
Cancellation requests submitted between 2 weeks and 1 day (or prior to online material being granted and accessed) before the workshop date will be entitled to a 50% refund.
Cancellation requests submitted after online material has been granted (1 day prior to workshop) or on or after the day of the workshop will not be eligible for a refund.
**Please note: Due to the unpredictable nature regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, we may be required to cancel the workshops upon short notice. Registered participants will be notified immediately if this is to occur and will receive a full refund.
We also strongly recommend that if you are travelling interstate and need to book flights and accommodation that you select flexible flights and refundable accommodation bookings in the chance of last minute cancellation.
