Deposit: $3500
Monash University Museum of Art and Monash Prato Centre invite you to join us from 24 – 30 September 2024 for the Inaugural Innovation in Medicine Art Study Tour, Italy. During the conference you will hear from experts about innovation and creativity as a form of research, including medical practitioners, art historians, curators and artists.
Most industries function in a silo, with meetings and educational opportunities focused only on their area of interest. By only meeting with other ‘experts’ we risk becoming tunnel visioned, constantly reinforcing our own biases and beliefs. Art, by its very nature, challenges these norms. Artists ask us to reconsider what it is we believe in, and how we might better create, innovate, educate and change – issues that are core to the ongoing success of any modern business, regardless of the industry or field.
Drawing on academic interdisciplinary expertise workshops and field visits are designed to challenge you to think laterally, learning from the practice of artists, to reinvigorate and reconsider how you more effectively manage these core challenges.
Registration to the conference is via a $3,500 AUD registration fee due 31 March 2024. An additional minimum $3,000 tax-deductable donation per person will be requested by 30 June 2024.
This fee covers the hospitality, internal transport, and ticket entry into venues on the tour.
Not included: flights, airport transfers, accommodation, travel insurance and some meals
