Associate Professor Michelle Giles is an adult infectious diseases physician who specialises in infections in pregnancy and maternal immunisation. Her academic appointment is with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Monash University where her current research work spans maternal immunisation, hepatitis B and pregnancy, HIV and reproduction, hepatitis C treatment and the role of antibiotic therapy to prevent preterm birth. She has clinical appointments at the Royal Women’s Hospital, Monash Health, Western Health and Alfred Health and is Director of the Infections in Pregnancy Service, Monash Health. She is a sitting member on the Australian Technical Advisory Group for Immunisation and Editor on the Australian Society for Infectious Diseases Perinatal Algorithms.
