ESC3791: Environmental Change field trip
The Environmental Change fieldtrip runs overnight to the Western Volcanic Plains of Victoria.
The Western Plains are the most extensive volcanic province in Australia and this trip visits some of the key crater lakes and other sites that have revealed the environmental changes that went on in the area in the past.
Along with learning about the volcanic, cultural, climatic and ecological history of the area, students will gain hands-on experience in palaeoenvironmental field techniques by collecting sediment cores that form the basis of the practical programme for the semester.
