About the course:
In today’s professional landscape, a heightened emphasis is placed on the preservation of our environment and the sustainability of our planet. This course is designed to foster professional development by delving deeply into the principles of environmental stewardship. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of what environmental stewardship entails, why it holds increasing significance, and how they can play a pivotal role, both individually and collectively, in ensuring the sustainability and protection of our world's vital ecosystems and resources.

Structure:
This course comprises 5 modules of learning, followed by the completion of a 5 week goal and Final Assessment to qualify for your micro-credential. Please see below a module-by-module breakdown of what you will learn in this course.
Module 1: An introduction to environmental stewardship. What environmental stewardship is, why it's important, how it affects individuals, communities and organisations, and the history which has shaped our relationship with the environment.
Module 2: Individuals and communities impacts on the environment, and how these groups can implement environmental stewardship in their regions and beyond.
Module 3: Governments and Organisations' impacts on the environment, and how these groups can implement environmental stewardship in their regions and beyond.
Module 4: Challenges and barriers to effective environmental stewardship, and how individuals, communities, governments and organisations can overcome them.
Module 5: You will revisit key signposts in the course and bring to life some of the activities you have been participating in over the past 4 weeks. A final assessment will be held this week which will support you towards gaining the Environmental Stewardship micro-credential.

- Understand the shared and integrated history that humanity has with the environment, and how they have collectively influenced our current state

- Understand the challenges and risks which act as roadblocks to environmental stewardship, and how to overcome them
