The Australian Epilepsy Neurostimulation Workshop (Aus-E-Stim 2026) is a meeting designed for clinicians and scientists interested in epilepsy and neurostimulation therapies (or neuromodulation).
The theme of the 2026 workshop is network-based neurostimulation, including network-informed deep brain stimulation and vagus nerve stimulation and network-informed neurosurgical mapping techniques. The workshop will provide a unique platform for knowledge exchange, skill development, and networking within the field.
The workshop will run over two days – Friday 13th and Saturday 14th of March 2026 – and will consist of short-format talks, case-based discussions, and practical sessions. The talks will be on Friday (morning and afternoon sessions) and Saturday (morning sessions only), while the practical sessions will be on Saturday afternoon.
Practical session topics will include:
• Programming: VNS and DBS
• DBS targeting and trajectories
• Neurosurgical mapping techniques
• Other topics TBC
The workshop will be fully catered (morning tea, light lunch, and afternoon tea) for both attendance options, but registration is essential. Places are limited for the workshop. Once full, a waitlist will be available for you to register your interest.
There are two optional social and networking events hosted by sponsors. Attendance is optional, and has no additional cost, but you must register in advance to attend:
(1) Posters and Canapes session, sponsored by Medtronic, Friday 13th March, 5:30-7:30 pm.
(2) VNS Therapy Educational Dinner, hosted by LivaNova, Saturday 14th March. Details TBC.
